How to improve the mileage of my 1996 Lancer GLXi?

Hi everyone... I need help for my 1996 lancer GLXi (Manual) 1.6L Engine.. I just bought it last month, it has a setup for headers and mufflers and has a simota air filter.
My problem is the consumption of fuel... i think its only 5km-6km
Have your oxygen sensor checked
